Manufacturing with SLS 3D printing
SLS is a powder-based 3D printing technology. It makes use of a high powered laser that selectively scans a thin layer of powder and sinters the small powdered plastic particles together to form 3D object, layer by layer. Such technology is a great choice for functional prototypes as it’s robust and will not become brittle over time. In fact, the durability of parts created with SLS technology is on par with those produced through traditional manufacturing methods such as injection moulding.

Additional post-processing can be done to improve part’s appearance, such as dyeing, vapor smoothing or tumbling. Vapor smoothing as a surface finish for 3D printed parts. Used for a variety of aesthetic purposes, it reduces surface roughness, leaving a smooth, glossy texture that’s easy to clean.
