3D Scanning
Strangled by inaccurate measurements? With Projet’s advanced 3D scanning technologies, we can now convert any physical parts into a digital model in the matter of minutes. 3D scanners collect data in the form of point cloud, and this data can be used to construct digital 3D models for next process.
Manufacturing with 3D Scanning
Our team of metrology experts utilizes cutting-edge structed light technology to capture highly detailed, accurate, and non-destructive data of the object. Forget cumbersome equipment and stalled production lines – we capture precise measurements on-site, minimizing downtime and maximizing convenience. Typical applications include making digital backups (.STL, .STP, .OBJ, .XB formats) of precious or irreplaceable objects, to reverse engineer components for remanufacturing when the plans aren’t unavailable and inspecting finished manufactured parts against the original design.
Tired of deciphering complex reports? We provide clear, actionable insights that streamline the inspection process and unlock the power of immediate reverse engineering.
What can be scanned
We can 3D scan nearly any object, from as small as 0.5 mm to as large as 2 meters. Using cutting-edge ultra-high-resolution blue light technology, we ensure precise results every time. This advanced system consistently captures objects with single-frame accuracy of up to 0.02 mm, delivering exceptional detail and reliability.
To ensure the best results, some objects may require pre-processing, which we handle for you :
-
Soft or moving objects :
These must be secured and remain completely still throughout the scanning process. -
Reflective or transparent surfaces :
These need to be coated with a vanishing scanning spray, eliminating the need for post-cleaning.
While our scanner is highly advanced, it does have a few limitations:
-
Vision-based technology :
The scanner captures only what is visible to the naked eye. For instance, it can fully scan the outside of a tube but can only capture the inside up to a certain depth.
Our 3D Scanning Services We Offer
Scanning is where it all begins, by taking your object into the digital world, using the latest laser 3D scanning technology.
3D scanning to CAD, gives you the options to modify, repair, inspect, digitise and visualise your scanned parts.
Turning your 3D scans into a 3D print from the data we capture. Or supply your own STL file & we can print that.
Frequently Asked Questions:
We offer both in-house and on-site 3D scanning services to meet your specific needs. The most affordable option is to send your part to us. Once completed, we’ll happily return your items once the 3D scan data is complete.
Note: we can make the shipping arrangements, however, we do not cover the shipping costs.
If you have a heavy or delicate item, or if you're not comfortable sending your object to us, we can come to your location. Feel free to contact us to discuss the best solution for your project.
Note: additional travel fees will apply.
First, we’ll need the object you want to scan.
Once we have the object, we’ll begin the scanning process. By projecting light and analyzing the deformation patterns, our 3D scanner captures every detail and dimension of the object with incredible accuracy.
After the scan is complete, we export the digital model to CAD software in your preferred file format and return the physical object to you.
The immediate output of a 3D scan is a mesh file, typically in the .STL format. To ensure the mesh is ready for 3D printing, we manually fix any holes, creating a watertight mesh that works seamlessly.
We can output scan data in all common CAD file formats, including STL, .STP, .OBJ, .XB formats. If required, we can also reverse engineer the object, either partially or completely, to recreate its design.
The main factors that influence the cost are the size, complexity, and level of detail of your part.
